Buying Perfume is an excellent
choice for a St. Valentines gift for the women
in your life provided you take the time to find out what
she really enjoys in a perfume. No one wants to buy an
inappropriate gift, which is so easy to do when it comes
to fragrances. In fact, buying perfume is often an old
standby, especially for mothers. Some poor moms have
endless bottles of perfume that they never wear because
they do not like the scent of, or simply because they
get a bottle of the same fragrance each and every year.
If you are buying perfume as presents for your Valentine's
(or any other woman in your life),
you may consider buying other products in her favorite
fragrance. Most perfumes also have a line of bed and
bath products such as linen spray, bath gels, body
powder, and other products that will serve to provide
you with several gift-giving opportunities. This also
allows her to layer her fragrances, which will give
her a more long lasting
‘dose’ of her favorite scent. In addition
to that buying the complimentary products gives her
a much slower growing supply of products rather than
20 bottles of perfume that she cannot hope to use
within her lifetime.
If you are buying perfume for someone that doesn’t
have an established favorite, be sure to consider her
personality when buying perfume. Is the woman you are
buying for extremely feminine, is she a tomboy, is she
exotic? There is a fragrance for every woman, make a
list of the traits that define her and take her to a
perfumery, you will be surprised at how quickly they
can help you find a fragrance that personifies the personality
of the person you are buying for. Gifts of perfume take
a little more thought than other gifts, especially if
you are buying for someone that doesn’t have an
established favorite. It can be done however, and you
just might find their new favorite.
Another thing to remember is that when it comes to
gifts of perfume, you pay more for quality. The thing
about quality with perfume is that a good quality fragrance
is less likely to leave a cheap ‘flavor’
in your mouth. If you’ve ever been around someone
who wears a large amount of cheap perfume then you know
exactly what I am talking about. A sharp pounding behind
your eyes and occasionally a watering of your eyes to
go with it generally follows this taste in your mouth.
In other words, I recommend against going to your local
discount store in order to buy perfume to give as a
present.
Instead, go to a higher end department store or a specialty
store that blends their own perfume and buy a unique
fragrance for the woman in your life. This is by far
my favorite method for purchasing perfume for the purpose
of gift giving. This way the person you are buying for
has a fragrance that is completely matched to their
personality and they know that you put a lot of thought
and effort into their gift. It is after all, the thought
that counts and the more thought you put into the gifts
you buy; the more the gift is cherished.
